Hello, my Sony CDP-7F has stopped working. After not being used for a few years, it played about half a cd then lost power. The little red sign beanies the sony logo (it says digital audio), but nothing else powers. No lcd screens, but the centre cd spindle is spinning. I’ve done a basic power check and it looks like -5v is down.
Anyone have any thoughts? It was very sudden, is it worth recapping the power supply a replacing the regulator? Or could it be something more specific.
Thanks

I uploaded service manual of 7F for your reference. If no LCD display, it doesn't seem like a -5V issue. 7F has separated LCD driver and CPU circuit. If no display but CD player still runs, it means 29V for VFD is missing while it's generated by 46V. Repair it should be extremely careful for high-voltage shock. If repair service is needed, pls contact kaosuncd@gmail.com, thx!
