Sony D-T3 no spin CD

Plugging in with AC adaptor.

AM/FM radio is functional.
Removable/rechargeable BP-3 battery is non-functional.
When put in CD and close lid; sounds like laser actuator/seek is trying to work.
CD does not spin at all.
Display shows: 00
It appears display is OK
Please advise what type of repair process might be possible for this unit.
Also if there is hope to rebuild BP-3 with new cells.

I received a D3T with same condition for repair, is it yours? BP3 also needs to be upgraded to be Li-ion.

You did a great job and communicated very well for the repair and BP3 upgrade.
I feel lucky that you are the expert on these players.
I am enjoying my renewed use of my player.
